What do you do at DS Business Solutions?

I am Finance Manager at DS Business Solutions which means I responsible for all things finance related including devising financial strategies, creating forecasts and ensuring all accounting activities comply with regulations. This covers everything from processing bank transactions, reconciling supplier statements, processing and maintaining purchase ledgers, managing credit control, inputting supplier invoices, processing payroll, completing VAT returns, cleansing data, overseeing cash flow, creating projections, planning budgets and controlling costs. I am responsible for maintaining tight financial controls and delivery of the company’s financial strategy. I oversee the management of financial systems and populate month end and year end statistical reporting. It is my responsibility to produce accurate financial performance information of the business in a timely manner. I also focus on continual financial review through effective analysis, evaluation and improvement development to support the financial strength and stability of the company.

What are your credentials/experience, for working in your position?

Having worked in Finance for over 15 years I have extensive experience managing accounts, reconciling transactions, managing budgets, updating projections and overseeing cost controls. After completing my BA in Accountancy at university, I worked for a number of organisations across different industries including IT, Telecoms and Ground Maintenance companies. Working in finance enables me to work in an environment where I can personally control and manage the financial aspects of the business, which gives me a great sense of achievement from knowing that I support businesses to achieve their financial goals. I also have extensive experience of working as an Events Manager and I believe this has enabled me to develop my problem solving and interpersonal skills as I thrive on creating solutions and making improvements to processes which directly affect the performance of the company.
